Well fans, Mr Jay21 has been a busy bee, so busy in fact that he’s been only sleep 1 hour many of the days, the price of living a double life. Meeting crazy dead lines sometimes can be a very big drag and doing stupid paper work. any who, i’m repotting in on what’s going on in the schedule, well I’ve been asked by my good friends at lytearts, to write an interview for Marcos Chin. lytearts is an online magazine and community for artists in toronto. Them knowing me being a big big fan of his work, they asked me to come up with the interview so, for me its like me being in a toy store. I wanted to thank the team of lytearts for the opportunity on doing this. lytearts will me launching in may so look out for that. other things on Jay21 plate is that he will be judging a big composition this week. ill be judging a 2d animation competition of all the best high schools in the GTA. I think it will be really cool. Next week i will be doing 2 workshops of fashion illustration and computer illustration. so Jay21 is a lil busy at times. well i’m off ill keep you guys posted on any new leads or images.

Hey kids. well the fundraiser want well. was a good night and turn out. I had a tun of fun doing it, I meet a few of you fans, witch was really cool, thanks for coming out. I got a few students from Sheridan collage doing a short interview of me. Witch was cool. i was a lil nervous but hey you know me, I love giving back to everyone, especially to my fans and followers. She said she was going to send me a copy so ill post it up when i get it. It was a great night. I wonna take this time to Thank everyone who came out and supported it . i would to say to the organizer (Misty) she did a great job she one step closer on reaching her goal. If she need any more help she knows were to find me. like i said i was a great night filled with good friends and new friends. The funny thing about that night was my good friend who kept telling me all night saying he going to win the painting, you know what he really won witch was crazy. so i wanted to send out my love to him.he knows who he is;) hahaha ok imm off thanks again people.

Hello Mr and Misses fans,
I just wanted t share some photos from one of my clients. She took a few pics of her display of one of there displays, they made the postcards in to posters. so that was really cool to see how they are being used. Im very happy with them. She also told me that many people requesting to buy them, so I agreed in to doing a limited printing of the posters. so if your in the Barcelona area drop by her store (Nica women’s street wear.), grab yours, i’m going to see if i can grab a few of them so I give them away for people in the Toronto area. if you wish to have one please e-mail me, ill be making a waiting list for those wish to have one.

I wonna take this time to thank Nelia and the Nica family for being so cool with everything.

Hello adoring fans!!!
I know its been a while since the sketch of the day, so i decided to post up 3 pages!!! just for those who are sketch hungry hahaha,. These are some warm up sketches i made in 20 mins ( there actually 4pages). i usually don’t do that many, but sometimes I needed a big warm up, take some rust out. well enjoy.

hey everyone!
been a busy past weeks crazy:S not cool at all, but ive finally got the consent from the owners of those cool postcards i was talking about b4. i was thinking it would be cool to show the whole process ofh one of them, so you could see how i got to to the final. ok here we go.

1- i was looking throw allot of noir posters, i liked the idea making postcards that looked like old noir posters, but revamped. so i looked throw allot of posters and liked a few good themes. in this case “blond ice” was a theme that i liked and also i loved how it sounded.

2- After that i did over 50 sketches for this theme, and from the all of them this one is the one that popped in my head, i liked the look and feel of it.

3- from there i cleaned it up and refined the lines. the look i was looking for this particular card was a sedative, sexy look, if that even makes sense?

4- from there i bring it photoshop and do some colour skimming to find out wat colours im looking for. i never do it as an amazing job because im just there to see what colours work well, so i can sample them in illustrator after. much faster this way.

5- Then i bring it in to illustrator. this is how it looks after 25 mins in to it. looking good

6- hour land half later im done her, from there, comes in how the layout will be, also figuring out the type and things like that.

7- then comes time to put all the elements together, type, background, sexy girl and the extras.

8- Then 25 mins later poof were done.

Note: I wanted to show a few of the details of it. allot of people usually dont notice when i do this kind of stuff.

Now you know my whole work ethic. I hope that helps a few of the peoples e-mails i got. lets hope i makes some sense. if not let me know ill gladly clear it up.

Well people just reporting in. ill be doing a Fundraiser To Help Educate Children In Ghana at March 23. ill be doing a live-painting throw out the night, which will be raffled off at the end if the night. i will also have some t-shurts that i’ve made with a good friend of mine Frankie. i believe there 25 bucks or so for each T, and also will be giving a few at the end of the nigh as well. I will be giving the exclusive Jay21 pins for free. Its gonna be a great night so please if u live in the toronto area pop in for a bit say hi. i don’t mind talking to everyone of you gonna be some great music of my good friend Dj mensa who also made the music for my lil site. so be cool pass by! heres the flyer for all the details.
